Una giovane donna che, ancora adolescente, è riuscita a sfuggire a un pericoloso serial killer, decide di dedicare la propria vita alla ricerca di un possibile metodo per l'identificazione delle sociopatie, in modo da evitare che altri abbiano la vita rovinata come l'ha avuta lei. Allo scopo riesce a far costruire un carcere di massima sicurezza in Alaska, nel quale custodire e studiare i peggiori soggetti del genere che le interessa. Deve però fare i conti con due avvenimenti del tutto inaspettati: l'inaspettata ricomparsa del suo persecutore e, ancora più inaspettata, la nascita dell'amore.
Non un capolavoro, ma ugualmente un libro interessante e moderatamente divertente, che avrebbe tratto grande vantaggio dall'uso di un numero minore di stereotipi tipici del genere.


A young woman, still a teenager, managed to escape a dangerous serial killer, and decide to dedicate her life to finding a possible method for identifying antisocial, in order to prevent others to have their lives ruined as the she had her. For this she manage to build a maximum security prison in Alaska, in which watch over and study the worst subjects in the genre that interests her. She must, however, deal with two completely unexpected events: the unexpected reappearance of her persecutor, and, even more unexpected, the birth of love.
Not a masterpiece, but also a good book and mildly entertaining, which would have drawn great benefit from the use of fewer stereotypes typical of the genre.
