Titolo originale The Great Gatsby - 1925

Gatsby ha 17 anni, li ha nel giorno in cui nasce, e anche nel giorno in cui muore, perché Gatsby è l'americano medio, convinto che si possa essere ciò che si dice di essere.
Purtroppo è una presunzione che porta solo guai, fino alla morte, e a Gatsby in questo senso va anche bene, perché di solito gente come lui viene disconosciuta e dimenticata da tutti, mentre al protagonista rimarrà almeno un amico postumo disposto a narrare la sua storia.
Bel libro, ma lievemente inferiore alla sua fama, dovuta forse più a Robert Redford che ai suoi reali meriti.


Gatsby is 17 years old, he has these age on the day he was born, and even on the day he dies, because Gatsby is the average American, convinced that one can be what he claims to be.
Unfortunately it is a presumption that only brings trouble, up until to death, and Gatsby in that sense it's good, because usually people like him are disregarded and forgotten by all, while at the protagonist will remain at least one posthumous friend willing to tell his story.
Beautiful book, but slightly lower than its fame, due perhaps more to Robert Redford that its real merits.
