Quando siamo adulti perdiamo il contatto con il bambino che siamo stati, diventiamo grandi, razionali, non crediamo più alle fiabe e guardiamo alle nostre paure infantili con una certa sufficienza. Eppure, se potessimo tornare indietro, ricorderemmo che quelle paure ci hanno quasi ucciso, che non capivamo gli adulti tanto quanto loro non capivano noi, che una pozzanghera poteva sembrarci un oceano e che la luna era sempre piena.
Questa è la magia, e questo è Neil Gaiman.


When we are adults we lose touch with the child we were, we become grownups, rational, we no longer believe in fairy tales, and we look at our childhood fears with a certain sufficiency. Yet, if we could go back, we would remember that those fears have almost killed us, that we did not understand adults as much as they did not understand us, that a puddle could seem an ocean and that the moon was always full.
This is the magic, and this is Neil Gaiman.
