Una storia che intreccia la realtà materiale, rappresentata dallo zoo, dagli animali selvatici, dalle loro alterità e necessità imprescindibili, e la vita spirituale di un giovane indiano a cui la sorte ha destinato un nome insolito, la cui stessa qualità quasi degradante lo costringe a rinforzare la propria tempra morale, che eleva un inno al sincretismo religioso.
Difficile scindere nella storia che Pi racconta la realtà tragica dalla fantasia, che è in grado di aggiungere grandezza alla tragedia, ma la storia, con tutte le sue allegorie, è un incredibile inno alla vita.
Se l'autore avesse portato avanti la narrazione senza inserire ogni tanto la propria voce, il risultato sarebbe stato eccezionale.
Il film che ne è stato tratto è spettacolare nella realizzazione, buono nella sceneggiatura, ma necessariamente deve trascurare molto della incredibile sontuosità degli eventi.


A story that links the material reality, represented by the zoo, the wild animals, their otherness and unavoidable necessity and the spiritual life of a young Indian to whom fate has destined an unusual name, whose almost degrading quality forces him to reinforce its moral fiber, which elevates a hymn to religious syncretism.
It is difficult to separate in Pi's story the tragic reality from fantasy, which is able to add grandeur to the tragedy, but the story, with all its allegories, is an incredible hymn to life.
If the author had carried out the narrative without entering occasionally his voice, the result would be awesome.
