Annunciato come il seguito del mitico Shining, Doctor Sleep è in realtà un libro standalone ambientato nel post Overlook Hotel il cui protagonista è Dan Torrance, il bambino salvatosi dal fuoco e dalla devastazione.
Detto questo, tutto è diverso rispetto a Shinig, essenzialmente perché diverso è Stephen King, che non scrive con la scimmia sulla schiena, ma della scimmia sulla schiena, e scrive un romanzo corale lì dove Shinig è claustrofobico.
Acquistato in inglese dopo la tremenda delusione procuratami da Joyland, tradotto probabilmente dalla sciura mariuccia, è linguisticamente gergale e pirotecnico, e faccio tutti i miei auguri a chi lo tradurrà.
Il voto si ferma a quattro stelline perché c'è un leggero cedimento nel finale, che avrei preferito un po' più "muscolare".


Announced as the sequel of the mythical Shining, Doctor Sleep is actually a standalone book set in the post Overlook Hotel whose main character is Dan Torrance, the child survived against fire and devastation.
That said, everything is different towards Shinig, mainly because different is Stephen King, who does not write with the monkey on his back, but about monkey on your back, and writes a choral novel where Shinig was claustrophobic.
Purchased in English after the tremendous disappointment Joyland, probabily translated by a nonentity, procured me, it is linguistically full of jargon and fireworks, and I do all my best wishes to those who will translate it.
Voting stops four stas because there is a slight failure in the final, I would have preferred a bit 'more 'muscular.'
