Jane Austen sta ancora temperando la matita, e i protagonisti di questo romanzo non sono dotati dell'umorismo tipico della scrittrice, anche se sono molto ben disegnati.
Un bel ritratto della middle class inglese dell'epoca, tra calcoli, rendite, balli, amicizie, fidanzamenti più o meno segreti, su cui spiccano due sorelle, una tutta ragione e l'altra tutta sentimento.
Entrambe troveranno la felicità, ma per la seconda sarà necessario ricondurre il sentimento nei limiti della ragione.


Jane Austen is still tempering the pencil, and the main characters of this novel are not equipped with the humor typical of the writer, although they are very well designed.
A beautiful portrait of the English middle class of the time, including calculations, revenues, dancing, friendships, engagements more or less secret, on which stick out two sisters, one all reason and the other all feeling.
Both will find happiness, but the second will need to bring the feeling within reason.
