Tre sono i motivi per i quali ho assegnato un giudizio così basso nonostante la qualità della scrittura non sia deprecabile: innanzi tutto questo è il secondo volume di una serie della quale non ho letto il primo, e sono sempre più convinta del fatto che questo vezzo di scrivere serie delle quali sia impossibile leggere i singoli volumi capendoci qualcosa senza aver letto gli altri sia una pessima abitudine; in seconda istanza la protagonista è insopportabile, troppo infantile per quella che dovrebbe essere la sua età anagrafica, e piena di vezzi e manie tali da farne un pessimo esempio per i giovani che dovrebbero essere il target di questo romanzo; ultimo ma non meno importante, nonostante l'apparente continuo movimento dei personaggi, in questo libro non succede nulla di davvero interessante. O forse sono io che sono troppo vecchia, chissà.


There are three reasons why I have assigned to this book a so low rating despite the not despicable quality of the writing: first of all this is the second volume in a series, of which I have not read the first, and I am increasingly convinced that this habit to write series of which it is impossible to read the individual volumes understanding something, without reading the others, is a bad habit; secondly the protagonist is unbearable, too childish for what should be her real age, and full of quirks and foibles such that she becomes a bad example for young people who should be the target of this novel; last but not least, despite the apparent continuous movement of the characters, in this book nothing really interesting happens. Or maybe I am too old, I wonder.
